Steve Weiner, MHA
President
Steve Weiner, MHA, has served as President of Steve Weiner Search Group for the past 27 years, a premier executive search firm specializing in the healthcare industry. With 20 years’ experience in senior leadership roles in hospital organizations, Steve is a trusted advisor to many of America’s healthcare leaders. In addition to conducting executive and management level searches for national healthcare companies, Steve counsels professionals on securing their future careers by developing solid resumes that reflect marketable skill sets and successful career paths.
Steve held hospital senior executive level positions with leading healthcare systems such as Hospital Corporation of America, SSM Health, Kaiser Permanente and the Daughters of Charity. His industry knowledge in healthcare integrated delivery systems, acute care hospitals, medical group management, and behavioral healthcare is extensive. As the past Director of Operations for publicly-traded Horizon/CMS Healthcare, one of the nation's first post-acute care companies, Steve has working knowledge of the issues facing today’s long-term acute care, rehabilitation, senior living, home health, and hospice organizations.
Several years ago, Steve helped organize the Student-Alumni Mentoring Program at The George Washington University (GWU) and served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of its Master’s Program in Health Services Management and Leadership. In 2019, Steve was awarded the GWU Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award for this program. He has served as a mentor and team leader in the mission statement/values development and continuous quality improvement processes at various healthcare organizations. Additionally, Steve served on the faculty at the University of San Francisco and the University of La Verne and taught in their Master of Public Administration/Health Services programs. He also participated as a member of The George Washington University National Advisory Committee on Long Term Care, namely The Wertlieb Institute.
Born and raised in New York, Steve earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. He graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a Master of Arts in Health Services Administration, after completing his hospital administration residency training at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center (now Scripps Mercy Hospital) in San Diego.
Deanna McGee, MHR
Vice President
Deanna McGee, MHR, serves as Vice President and executive recruiter for Steve Weiner Search Group. With over 17 years of progressive experience in human resources and the healthcare industry, Deanna brings a seasoned, strategic perspective to our national searches. Deanna has worked for Sutter Health, a leading multi-hospital system based in Sacramento, California, Grossmont Hospital (now part of Sharp HealthCare) in San Diego, California, and Boone Hospital Center located in Columbia, Missouri. She has become a leading recruiter with her strong background in the development of staffing strategies and consultative support for talent acquisition.
Deanna specializes in identifying outstanding candidates and building strong relationships with current and potential hospital/healthcare clients. To ensure the appropriate candidate fit, she uses current metrics to place executive and management level talent nationwide. Deanna has successfully created employee relations policies and operating systems. Additionally, she has worked extensively with RESUMate and Taleo, state-of-the-art applicant tracking systems.
Deanna earned a Master of Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University.
Cristina Tobias
Research Associate
Cristina Tobias aids in developing critical professional relationships by using customized approaches to identify and connect with prospective clients and candidates. Her skills include active customer service and integrated talent management. Through utilization of various search avenues, she has been able to successfully deliver executive talent within the healthcare field. Cristina’s data-driven insight within the realm of digital relations has helped Steve Weiner Search Group expand its digital footprint to reach a wide variety of executive candidates nationwide.
Cristina holds a Bachelor’s degree of Health Sciences from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
Dylan Hood
Research Associate
Dylan Hood provides high quality administrative support for Steve Weiner Search Group team members through intraprofessional collaboration. He conducts research and analyzes current healthcare market trends including senior executive moves within the search firm’s robust healthcare network. Dylan prioritizes client relationships and progressive business expansion through communication and marketing initiatives on social media platforms.

Erin York

Erin York serves as a research associate and administrative assistant for Steve Weiner Search Group. She provides a variety of valuable services, including but not limited to, information systems support, market research in current healthcare trends, and candidate placement through the utilization of various search avenues. Erin works to develop organization and logistical strategies internally by using Google and Microsoft suites.
